The History of Atraiyu Mintaree |

Welcome to my haven. I am Atraiyu. I gather that you are here inquiring about my history and how I came to be with the guild. You are interrupting my valuable research time, but at least it is not for a trivial matter. Very well, my history you shall have. Gibertik, my pet, bring me and my guest some tea. And be quick about it! Lest I send you to the giants once more! Now then, let me get comfortable. What is that you say? Ahh, Gibertik? He is my pet from the elemental plane of Fire. He is one of my favorites, and he ensures that your tea will be hot. You may even have to let it cool some, he forgets sometimes that us of flesh are not so keen of his heat, being a fire elemental and all. Let me see, you want to know my history. Well then, let us get to it. I was born on Faydwer. I am not sure where, but have spent most of my life in Felwithe, studying the arts. Which arts you ask? If you do not know my arts by now due to my pet good adventurer, then perhaps some research would do you well! No patience you say? That seems to be such a lost virtue these days. Very well. I am a Magician, the art of Conjuration and Summoning are my specialties. I bring forth from the energies about me things that I can control, use or consume. Such as that bread you see there. Not very tasty I admit, but it serves the need of nourishment. But enough of what I do. From as early as I can remember, the only family that I have had has been that of my school of Magicks. My mentor was my teacher, and my mother. She is the head of the School now. She said that I was found in the center of the Dragons Teeth, wrapped in wolf fur. No one knew how I got there. I suspect my parents were poor, but this is of no matter. I have more important things to dwell on then who or where my parents are. She brought me to the school, and tested me for my abilities. I was said to have powers beyond the average High Elf, and that they should teach me the arts of the Gate Caller. My childhood, if you can call it that, was full of responsibility, training and little time for frivolities. That is the way of the schools of Magick, not just my own. It is a tricky task to wield these powers. All during my training, at night on occasion, I would have strange occurring dreams. Of places and people that I did not yet know. After I had these dreams more then a few times, I believed that they were visions, of prophecies and adventure. I craved to wander the world, but alas my training was not yet done. I ignored these urges and continued with my arts. After my graduation from the school, I was stricken with a strange and powerful desire to travel. I could no longer stay within the walls of the School. Fresh out of school, yearning to wield my powers, I struck out into the world. And quite the place it was too. Filled with wonders, creatures of such immense size and power, cities of such difference in design. Some things I could do, others I could not. In time Adventurer, all shall fall before me and my power, the treasures that I shall earn, the valuable scholastic things that I shall learn, the quests that I shall........ The guild? Oh yes. The first of my visions to be revealed to me was the Lady Greystar. A cleric within the Temple at Felwithe. A quiet sort she is, but her family history has taught her to be so. Seek her if you wish to know more, tis not my place. However though, we met during our early years exploring Faydwer. The orcs were prevalent then, that was before I was strong enough to wipe them out. All of them. To see the anguish in the eyes of those in Crushbone castle was a wondero.. Oh sorry. More tea please Gibertik. A wonderful woman that Greystar. When we met, we both felt a relief within our souls, and we knew that this was part of the vision. It was at this point I knew that it was not only I that had these visions solely, but others had them as well. So we struck out together, seeking out others who have had these visions. Vellinous. His name does bring a smile to my face. A Ranger from Kelethin. It was when Greystar and I were about killing some of the smaller orcs on the outskirts of Crushbone. His wit is clever, and his sword is fast. He journeyed with us for some time, and during this time the three of us fought like no other party could. We worked as a seamless team, conquering many a foe without so much as a word to each other. We had a connection with each other. Yet another part of the vision was complete. Shaylin. Ahh, my fair Shaylin. Another of my kind and profession, it was easy for her to be part of our team. She and I stood side by side, blasting Minotaurs away. I remember that scene from one of my visions, and once again, that connection was there. Another of the group had been found. Rillvanna. A Euradite cleric. Her humour at times is strange, but in battle she is yet another works as part of a well oiled gnomish machine. Have you seen what those gnomes can build? No matter. Rillvanna was another from our visions, and was welcomed. There are others too. Seek them out and learn of their part of this story. Celestian, a Erudite Wizard. His spells of combat do out weigh mine, but would not stand against both me and good old Gibertik here. Kaell, a Tier'dal. Part of our vision he is, much to my dislike. I do try to ignore his birthright, for the good of the guild. Davandar, a human Paladin. He eats like a horse, always reliable and complements both mine and Shaylin's pet. And we will continue to find others within our Visions. Perhaps you adventurer are one of those. I do not feel a connection with you as of yet, but we are not in the field. That is where the connection is felt strongest. This concludes the history lesson, I must
return to my research. If you wish to learn more seek us out.
Be well adventurer. |
